With American politics reflecting the mindset of underdeveloped countries of Africa and Asia, the world is facing an unprecedented hopelessness, if not a bleak future, for mankind.

The main contestant for the American presidency, Joe Biden, of the Democratic Party, now 82 reminds us of the last Mughal emperor, Bahadur Shah Zafar, and he is being challenged by the Republican Party nominee, Donald Trump, recently convicted for paying hush money to a porn star for a one-night sexual encounter. Interestingly, the court has not convicted them for his sexual encounter, but for paying her.

The political pundits and self-trumpeting experts on geopolitics across the continents have yet to evaluate the impact of this visible decline in the quality of political leadership across party lines. For most of us, a bizarre political drama is being witnessed with the battle lines finally drawn during the ongoing presidential poll. The Western media continues to harp that the US being the only superpower is working out effective strategies to contain China's march to the superpower status. It cannot also be denied that Chinese proxies have already penetrated key American institutions, such as academia, real estate, and even China's government companies have substantial equity in the established American newspapers and news channels.

The quality of political leadership has declined, with both candidates scripting the epitaph of the American dream. The media has exposed their questionable backgrounds, including Trump's sexual escapades and Biden's son Hunter's drug addiction and shady business dealings.

The world is witnessing a bizarre political drama, with the decline of American influence threatening to affect humanity as a whole. The American dream of democracy, fair play, and opportunity is fading, and the world is left wondering if this is a comedy or a Shakespearean tragedy.

There are also reports that the inquiry ordered by the Federal Government is yet to be made public. This delay could also be attributed to the proximity between the Biden Administration and Beijing.

The media debate in the US talks about the two old horses, Joe Biden, seeking reelection, and Donald Trump, 78, but seldom discuss how these two bafoons are scripting the epitaph of the American dream.

Neither of them should have ever been considered to preside over the world's most powerful executive position. If Biden represents the well-entrenched military-industrial complex, Trump, being a hard-core businessman man is keen to safeguard precious American resources to keep its position of being the world's only superpower, both militarily as well as financially.

 

A Shakespeare Tragedy

It is difficult to predict whether the political confrontation in the US with each side adopting questionable means to embarrass the other, would be an extension of a comedy show or might be unfolding of a Shakespearean tragedy. The sudden decline of American influence might adversely affect the entire mankind. Despite its innumerable inadequacies, the country still represents the American Dream of democracy, fair play, and a land of opportunities. Even Trump has not invoked the issue that Biden is a Roman Catholic. In the history of the US, Biden is the first Roman Catholic president, who could complete the full term in the office. Earlier, John F. Kennedy was the first Catholic to be elected President in 1961, but two years later, he was assassinated in 1963. The conspiracy was never unearthed.

The month of June 2024 will be remembered for two convictions, punishing Trump for paying hush money to a porn star, Stormy Daniels. Trump's attorney, Michael Cohen, according to a Wall Street Journal report, has paid a huge sum of USD 130,000, equivalent to Rs 1.20 crores in India, to keep this sizzling sexual encounter under wraps. Trump, however, has not been convicted for his irrepressible sexual venture, but for manipulating financial records to pay the beauty before contesting the earlier presidential poll to hide his sexual adventure.

Hunters Drug Addiction

It is quite intriguing for a president to declare that he is proud of his son that too just after his conviction in a drug abuse case. Biden did it recently before an international media at the G-7 summit in Italy.

Interestingly, neither Trump thinks that he has done any wrong by liaising with a woman of easy virtues for a one-night sexual odyssey nor Biden feels he should be ashamed of the deeds of his son for indulging in drugs. Both agree that the prison term is just a miscarriage of justice or a political vendetta.

Biden's assertion before the world press that he is proud of Hunter, while his two pretty granddaughters, Maisy, 23, and her elder sister, Finnegan, were seen smiling at their grandpa's admiration for their father.

 

Media Exposes

It, however, goes to the credit of the media for exposing the not-so-inspiring background and activities of these two illustrious families, who dominate American politics.

Trump claims that he is being framed as a part of a sinister political conspiracy, but doesn't deny his proximity or sexual extravaganzas with the girls associated with the darkest alleys of show business. On the other hand, Biden assures that he would not extend a Presidential pardon to Hunter, but fails to explain why he is proud of his son.

It is being asked in India and other democracies across the continents, whether he approves the business practices and sexual exploits of Hunter. Despite the public rhetoric of the Biden administration against China, the President hasn't cared to explain Hunter's close economic ties with a Chinese company and Borisma Holdings, one of the largest investors in Ukraine's natural gas business.

Hunter also fathered a daughter but refused to accept her till the paternity check revealed his dirty games to sexually exploit a young mother. The test was conducted under a judicial direction.

It is not known whether Biden is also proud of Hunter for abandoning the mother of Maisy and Finnegan and now lives with the widow of his elder brother.

The Friends

The circle of friends in the Biden family comprises Jacob Elordi, an Australian actor, who has earned worldwide fame in Kissing Booth, and his new girlfriend Jade Giannulli.

The social circle of the first family comprises people like Giannulli's parents, Massimo and Lori Laughing, both actors, who were sentenced to five months in jail for manipulating the college admission of Olivia and her elder sister, Isabella Rose. They, however, finally succeeded in getting the daughters admitted to the South California University, perhaps, by coughing up a half-million US dollars to the University.

In this backdrop, the decline of the idealism of American democracy appears to have finally eclipsed.
