A person wearing a blue hat and glasses

Description automatically generatedThe most obnoxious,

the most hated, most unwanted and indestructible creature in the world (no no don't get me wrong I mean the Cockroach silly) dared to walk out on me today.

I had closely watched it for almost two minutes, and 3.7 seconds in my kitchen in the morning.

(I was proud of 'my kitchen' even before Corona and the Chef Shows. And now I am the proud owner of a Chapati maker thoughtfully gifted to me by my wife on our 45th marriage anniversary).

Cut to the Cockroach:

So there it was-

Lying on its back without 'shaking' a leg.

Glad to have a chance to dispose of its vile body I picked up the dust-pan and reached out to it.

But it was probably in a Yogic Mudra and simply walked out on me (smiling I guess).

I clearly remembered I had stomped on it last night.

And that it had been injured and lay motionless.

Was it a ghost I was seeing?

The author whimsically speculates on why Chinese researchers focus on American cockroaches, suggesting humorous scenarios involving robotics and espionage.
Ultimately, the piece invites readers to ponder the future of cockroaches in a world that may never be free of them, blending wit with a light-hearted critique of societal issues.

The Chinese researched American cockroaches in 2018 & came out with some startling results:

1. When under stress the female cockroaches can lay unfertilised eggs that will hatch in a process called parthenogenesis or 'virgin' reproduction.

2. They have a strong capability for limb regeneration

3. Most importantly, they survive forces 900 times their body weight which is why if not squashed they can regenerate

I am not an expert on China so I don't know why the Chinese are experimenting with American cockroaches, not their own. Unless they have added them to their cuisine by way of snacks or soups!

There are only two and a half experts on China in India, the MEA, S Jaishankar, Subramanian Swamy and half (I didn't say half-wit) Rahul Gandhi.

They don't read my well-written columns (their loss), so I want my enlightened readers to guess what the Chinese intend to do with the American cockroaches.

Click into one of the following options or add their  own-

A.Turn them into robots to carry heavy machines

B.Fly them into outer space to spy on the country of their origin

Use their essence as a tonic to turn Xi Jinping's life into 1000 years

The winner will be sent to China which is desperately looking for Men (Mard) capable of producing three children with or without marriage.

And give up on the dream of a cockroach-free Universe, ever!
