After Prime Minister Modi won the Legislative Assembly elections in the three Hindi speaking states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan, not only has there been a change in the political scenario of the country but things for the BJP are also changing very fast. After the defeat in Karnataka elections and the situation in Manipur,  the BJP which had been somewhat on the back foot is now full of confidence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his supporters now feel that their political future is completely secure and they have full faith that there is no threat   whatsoever to Modi-Shah's power either from the Opposition parties or from within the  BJP.

It is because of this belief that Prime Minister Modi sidelined senior BJP leaders in the three states and imposed the Chief Ministers of his choice. Through this, Modi-Shah also tried to prove that they have complete and autocratic control over the BJP and can do whatever they want without worrying about the big and small leaders of the party. Before these elections, the Modi-Shah group had started another operation for a complete control over the BJP. Many BJP leaders of the Centre were lured by the post of Chief Minister and sent to contest assembly elections in the states. They worked diligently to make BJP win. But after the election results came  ,they were sidelined and completely new leaders of  small political stature were made the Chief Ministers.

In the selection of candidates before and the selection of the Chief Minister after the elections, the Modi-Shah duo has proved that the party is now completely in their control.

Anyway unlike other political parties, the Bharatiya Janata Party, which has come from the ideological base of the RSS, never had any room for differences, disagreements, dissatisfaction and mutual bickering within the party. But the harsh attacks on the Modi government by the Opposition parties on inflation, unemployment, Adani issue and Manipur had their echo even within the BJP. The effort of the Modi-Shah duo was to shut down these voices which were rising within the BJP. It seems that   after the Assembly  elections, at least for present , they have been successful in their mission.

Just as the BJP before Modi became the Prime Minister, till the year 2013-14 and the BJP after Modi came to power are one in name but are two completely different parties, similarly before and after  these assembly elections the BJP is different. BJP is no longer a democratic political party but has become a personal army of Modi-Shah which will do whatever it is ordered to do without asking any questions. The three new Chief Ministers are not public leaders but are loyal lieutenants of the Prime Minister who are ready to obey any of his orders.

Perhaps the Modi-Shah’s Gujarat lobby needs such BJP to contest next year's Lok Sabha elections with full confidence. Recently, it was being heard that due to the increasing influence of Congress and the Opposition ,  fearing defeat some senior BJP leaders and R.S.S.  top officials were thinking of an alternative to Modi. Opposition voices within the BJP like Subramaniam Swamy, Varun Gandhi, Nitin Gadkari were clearly showing their dissatisfaction with Modi. The independent working style of Yogi Adityanath and the incompatibility of senior leaders like Rajnath Singh were the reason for Modi Shah's uneasiness. This uneasiness increased even more when the dissatisfaction within the BJP came out openly at the time of ticket distribution.

If the effort of Modi-Shah was to silence the voices of dissatisfaction of BJP, then perhaps they have succeeded in their mission at this time. But it is difficult to say whether this position is a guarantee of BJP's success in the Lok Sabha elections. By remaining calm and sitting at home, these dissatisfied leaders can cause hurt the party in the elections by non-cooperation.

Will Modi-Shah BJP win next year's Lok Sabha elections with the help of   inexperienced leaders of low stature and their workers? That too when the  Opposition  parties have come together with renewed energy and their joint front is all ready to give a tough challenge to BJP . Or do Modi and his loyal allies think that Modi's name alone is enough to win the elections? There is still at least three months left for the elections. How will the situation change at the time of polling and what will be the outcome of the elections, only the future will tell? It would be of no use to say anything now.
