During Eid celebrations on Monday last, welcome examples of Hindu-Muslim unity were witnessed at several places . In Ayodhya, former litigants from the Babri Masjid and Ram Temple case embraced each other, sending a message of love and harmony.

In cities like Jaipur, Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Sambhal, Hindus showered flowers on Muslims as they left the mosques after offering Eid prayers. In Mumbai, both the police and the worshippers exchanged roses as a symbol of peace and goodwill.

In Jaipur, Rajasthan, Hindu residents showered flowers on Muslims returning from the Eidgah located on Delhi Road, offering a beautiful demonstration of brotherhood. A video of this event has gone viral on social media.

Similarly, in Prayagraj, social organizations showed their solidarity by showering worshippers with flowers as they left the mosque. Several kilograms of rose petals were used during the flower shower, and roses were also given to worshippers to wish them a blessed Eid.

In Mumbai, after the prayers, Muslims shared roses with each other, and many worshippers and children distributed flowers to the police officers on duty, bringing smiles to their faces.

In the town of Sandhi, Hardoi district in Uttar Pradesh, Hindus greeted Muslims with a flower shower during the Eid procession. As per reports, when the Eid procession reached Nawabganj Mohalla, Hindu residents showered the procession with flowers from rooftops. The local municipality president, Ramji Gupta, warmly welcomed everyone in the procession. Videos from Seelampur in Delhi also surfaced, showing Hindu community members showering flowers on worshippers.

In Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, an extraordinary example of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb (the culture of Hindu-Muslim unity) was visible. As Muslims exited the mosque after offering Eid prayers, Hindus showered them with flowers, further cementing the spirit of unity.

In Sambhal, flowers were showered on worshippers heading towards the Eidgah, and in Dadri, Hindus offered flowers to Muslims. Social media videos of these events were shared widely, with Samajwadi Party spokesperson Raj Kumar Bhati noting that the region of Dadri has always been an example of Hindu-Muslim brotherhood, free from communal tension.

In Ayodhya (Faizabad), Eid-ul-Fitr was marked by a unique display of communal harmony. Iqbal Ansari and Mahant Dharamdas, former parties in the Babri Masjid-Ram Temple dispute, embraced each other and exchanged Eid greetings. The Sant community also visited Iqbal Ansari’s home to spread a message of love and unity.

Meanwhile, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited Kolkata’s Red Road to extend Eid greetings to the Muslim community. In her address, she targeted the BJP, emphasizing the importance of peace and communal harmony during the festival.
