Being Amitabh is not easy!

Amitabh Srivastav

The man who started off as a dumb character in Sunil Dutt's Reshma Aur Shera has sort of become the voice of the nation at 80.
It's not easy.
With the legacy of a father like Harivansh Rai Bachchan and a wife like Jaya Bachchan, it's not easy to be normal.
But with all our combined angst against him, especially after his political forays at the instance of family friend Rajiv Gandhi and the resultant bitter resolve never to enter politics again which he has maintained like Bhishm Pitamah one can't deny that he has become part of our everyday existence.
Be it talking non-stop on NDTV programmes on the environment, holding napkins for women participants too overwhelmed by emotions on his show Kaun Banega Crorepati which played a big role in his comeback after he had lost everything or his ads for almost everything possible and of course his relevance to Bollywood even at this age, it's not easy. And of course, being a proud and doting grandfather!
Not when you have a hostile non-film media, an abusive trail of social media trollers who hold him responsible for everything that is wrong in India.
It's not easy being Amitabh!
Any other celebrity would have changed his name, added an A or dropped another alphabet to appease the Gods that matter.
But it's not easy being just Amitabh and no one else, take it or leave it.
